The School of ICT hosted a two-day workshop on Computer Malware and Ethical hacking in March. This workshop introduced attendees to the different types of malicious software from a theoretical and practical implementation perspective.
Mr Manuel Corregedor, facilitator from the Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering, University of Johannesburg addressed many topics such as Introduction to malware, introduction to the concept of ethical hacking, identification of vulnerabilities in systems and networks, exploiting identified vulnerabilities to hack the systems and networks and methods to secure the systems and networks against hacking.
